Hundreds of widows who have lost their husbands in war or by disease to live with their children, often under inhumane conditions. They live in huts, which offer hardly any protection from moisture, in a single just a few square meters area, is cooked in the open fire and in which the whole family a single, shares issued on the dirt floor mat, as a place to sleep. Even during my first visits me, the pastor of our partner parish, Father Jacques asked to help to eliminate this unacceptable, inhumane conditions. Together, we have decided to build widows who start their own children also orphans, a new simple house with a roof and several rooms. Even small outbuilding for toilets, washing facilities and kitchen were provided. Families should be selected by each hill community together with the priest, must be taken with not only the stage of construction of the hut, but rather that the orphans that are included in the future family, are also looked after really loving and integrated.

It is with great pleasure that we could now see that the houses built so far, there have now been built 241 of them, mostly already with simple furniture, tables, benches, shelves, bed frames, etc. are equipped. They were all made in our training workshop. The proposed small building are often already completed and in operation. For a huge improvement in quality of life for the whole family has succeeded, but especially for the orphans, who are now grown under loving care of a mother with other children and thus still a relatively carefree childhood, may far experienced from the street.

As much as we look forward to the many families who now must live in a new house, so plagues us but also the fate of so many widows and orphans, which has in turn put us Father Jacques heartily recommend. For when the civil war now over, and many war orphans are already grown, so make malnutrition, disease, such as Marlaria and AIDS and finally death, even today grows not stop at the huts of so many and the number of impoverished, destitute widows and orphans constantly, especially since there is no supply from the state for her.

I know of course that it is impossible to help all people in this vast parish simultaneously. If still far 241 houses could be built, one of which at least € 1 000, - costs, this has only been possible with the help of you all, for which I am eternally grateful and which I still dare to hope.

Fortunately, is our friend, Anton Kiebacher, one from South Tyrol as eager for this project. Although he had many of our projects such as the construction of churches, schools, one for handicapped people, etc. has also personally supported him, this project is "New houses for widows and orphans" a heart completely. Over the country, he tries in discussions, lectures, with paintings and films, the heart of South Tyrol to win this project. Through these initiatives, and of course the donations of so many are allowed to have 38 families with many, many happy children of the new homes from South Tyrol. All of them, for now means the new house a quantum leap in their quality of life and also the parish priest, Father Jacques assured again and again, never want to stop all their benefactors in South Tyrol and also grateful to include us in their daily prayers.
